Frank Friedman -- Singer / Fund President
About Frank
Frank, the first and only President of Broadway Fantasies Charitable Fund, was a highly decorated combat pilot flying a P38 fighter plane during the Aleutian Islands campaign during World War II. He was the recepient of the Distinguished Flying Cross and two Air Medals. He resigned from the Air Force in 1950 after having achieved the rank of Major. Returning to his hometown of St. Louis , he established a wholesale distribution business.
The performing bug first bit Frank in 1989 when he began performing in his Temple's shows and then became part of Broadway Fantasies when it was formed. Smitten with performing, Frank has performed numerous roles including the King in The King and I, the MC in Cabaret, and the lead in La Cage Aux Folles.
His greatest role, he feels, is as the guiding force behind Broadway Fantasies. The challenges of arranging for a musical revue are many and varied -- choosing a Show Director, Musical Director, Choreographer, Rehearsal Hall, and Theatre are first, then Ticket Sales, Ad Book Sales, and Publicity are all part of it. But he feels that it is all worth it when the parts work together and the curtain goes up. The experience and good friendships that Frank has developed through Broadway Fantasies have been more than rewarding. There's no business like Show Business.
